Alternative Non-Invasive Procedures
Non-invasive plastic surgery has become very common because of its quick results and recovery time. Non-invasive plastic surgery, such as botox, has been popularized by American celebrities and its use has increased throughout the country. Botox Botox is one type of non-invasive procedure. This procedure is performed by the releasing of a toxin. The toxin is a type of bacteria. The original strand was initially found in contaminated meat. Botox is now used in medical procedures such as the treatment of cerebral palsy and other neurological problems. Most people prefer botox because it slows down the aging of the skin and helps repair wrinkles. Initially, botox was injected into the face to help those who suffered from facial spasms. Botox is also used to treat lines in the forehead and wrinkles between and around the eyes and mouth. The actual procedure lasts approximately 10 to15 minutes and requires no recovery time. The results are visible within days and will last for three to four months. In most cases, patients return to receive more botox injections four to five months after their last procedure. Other Techniques There are other non-invasive procedures, such as collagen injections and skin resurfacing. Collagen injections are performed to raise tissue and decrease the viability of wrinkles. Collagen is a natural protein that is already found in the human body. Alternatives There have been newer and safer alternatives to collagen made available recently. One such procedure involves injecting a hyaluronic acid compound into the facial skin. The hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in the body and achieves the same results as collagen. On average, collagen injections cost nearly $400 per session and hyaluronic acid treatments average $550 per session. There are skin resurfacing procedures such as, dermabrasion, the chemical peel, microdermabrasion, and laser skin resurfacing that are available to people who feel their overall appearance is not what it should be. These non-surgical face lift procedures can range in cost from $150 to $2,500 per treatment. All of the procedures produce immediate results but most require follow up procedures two to three times a year. |
